There has been quite a bit of talk surrounding OpenID in 2007 as many popular web companies have decided to use the login solution. OpenID is an open system that essentially allows you to log in to multiple accounts with the same ID.
Who is using OpenID?
[1] Wordpress.com: Very popular hosted blogging platform
[2] ProductWiki: Consumer reviews in a wiki format
[3] Live Journal: Web journals, blogs and forums community
[4] Vox: An easy to use blogging and social networking site by Six Apart
[5] Cerado Haystack: Social networking platform for organizations
[6] Zooomr: Share, search and store your photos
[7] Wikipedia: The information super site
Others joining the OpenID revolution in 2007 include Microsoft, AOL ([8] openid.aol.com/username), Yahoo and Digg… Yes, we thought we’d through Digg in there with the big guys (a small shout out)!
So how does OpenID work? Check out the tutorial video below. [9] Simon Willison does a great job of demonstrating the service by setting up an account and logging into a website.
