Forbes Interview with Jay Adelson - CEO of Digg

DiggLast week, Michelle Steele of Forbes interviewed Digg CEO Jay Adelson. When asked to explain Digg.com, Jay stated that it is “about the wisdom of the crowd”. Digg users submit and vote top stories from around the web to the front page of the site. These popular stories range from political news to sports. Digg puts the community in control and the articles that are important to the masses get the exposure they deserve.

In the interview, Jay explained how the London Bombing news made the front page of Digg quicker than traditional media. This demonstrates the power and speed of the blogosphere.

Digg gets about 20M unique visitors a month (including RSS). This number is far more than 1.3M Comscore Reports. Jay explains the difference by pointing out the flaw that third party website monitoring tools are flawed. For example, Comscore fails to report Firefox (web browser) visitors.
